Giving a fighting chance for those who can't fight for themselves

Anxiety in Children

Anxiety symptoms are common in children and adolescents.  It is estimated that 10–20% of school-aged children experience anxiety symptoms.

  • Does your child appear excessively worried, fearful, on-edge or tense?
  • Is your child clingy, crying, and/or with tantrums when you separate?
  • Does your child complain of frequent stomach aches or headaches?
  • Is your child experiencing sudden and frequent panic attacks?
  • Is your child avoiding situations or places because of fears?

Children with anxiety disorders are at higher risk to perform poorly in school, miss out on important social experiences, and engage in substance abuse. Without intervention, children tend to grow into their fears, not grow out of them. We can help you identify the source of  your child’s anxiety and provide you with the tools to support your child. With treatment and support, your child can learn how to successfully manage the symptoms of an anxiety disorder and live a normal childhood.

We Care

As a parent of an anxious child, you may feel emotionally exhausted. Highly anxious children can be demanding and can become very emotional if things don’t go the way they want. It  is common that parents become confused and unsure about how to discipline effectively and without harm or guilt.  For assistance in the identification of anxiety disorders call CC Assessment Services today.
